Overview

Rack density evolution, the trend towards liquid cooling and higher temperature operation are changing heat rejection design for data centers.

This presentation will compare PUE, WUE, environmental considerations and space requirements for air-cooled chillers, water-cooled chillers, and heat-rejection options including open cooling towers, closed-circuit cooling towers, dry coolers and adiabatic dry coolers.

Presentation will include a case study including benefit of free cooling and operating cost for each type of system as well as savings in OpEx, CapEx, peak power and footprint with higher operating temperatures.
